A Community in Motion
The Studio
The Center Dance + Yoga, founded in May 2023, is a vibrant arts and wellness organization located in the Arts and Theatre District of Kenmore Blvd (Akron, OH). Originally Etta Mae Smith Studio of Dance for 70 years, The Center was revitalized to preserve its rich legacy and serve as a hub for dance, movement, and integrative wellness programming on Kenmore Blvd. Our mission is to foster creativity, mental and physical wellness, and community connection through inclusive and accessible programs.
We are dedicated to providing a welcoming space for all individuals to explore the arts, movement, and self-expression, regardless of age, background, or ability. Currently, The Center offers dance classes for children and adults, yoga and other wellness programs, pop-up specialty classes, and arts and science camps for kids. Through this variety of programming, we aim to serve the entire community and make arts and wellness accessible, fun, and empowering for everyone.
